Amazon.com Only a year after the death of Tejano queen Selena, young hopefuls clamored to inherit her title. One of the most promising--at only 12 years of age--was Jennifer Peña. She had the support of Selena's label, EMI Latin; worked with many of Selena's musicians and producer on this debut album; and was managed by Selena's father, Abraham Quintanilla, Jr. Still, the biggest question was Peña's own talent, and she delivered throughout the album. Many of the songs--"Me Piden," "Vete Con Ella," "Quisiera Verte Otra Vez"--come off as innocuous filler, but Peña and her producers hit the mark elsewhere. "Ven a Mi" offers a playful cumbia groove, and "Pura Dulzura," the album's best track and biggest hit, is an undeniably infectious treat.
