The Jingle Bellies Christmas Album was conceived by Dallas/Ft.Worth musician Bobby Breaux originally as a gag. Tina Walker of Duncanville, TX, then a mortgage loan office colleague with Bobby's wife Susie, brought a tape of her pet potbellied pig Rebel to work. On the cassette were examples of Rebel's prolific "gastronomical" talents along with numerous oinks grunts and squeals. Knowing that her husband enjoyed those types of sounds Susie borrowed the tape from Tina and brought it home. What followed was a hilarious night with Bobby recording a few of the sounds into a digital sampler and then putting them to music in a short track of "Old MacDonald Had A Farm."

One thing led to another after friends were left howling upon hearing that first gag track. Bobby then decided it was high time for pigs to have a Christmas album all their own and after months of programming, arranging and artwork The Jingle Bellies Christmas Album was born.
Potbellied pigs may not enjoy the popularity advantage held by cats and dogs in the pet kingdom, but The Jingle Bellies are becoming a standard item on radio station playlists during Christmas.
Review
"In the tradition of jingle-bell dogs, 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer'-singing cats and the Mariah Carey-voiced chipmunks, musician Bobby Breaux of Arlington, Texas, has created a hog-wild holiday classic." -- 2-Minute-Know-It-All, Sacramento Bee, 12/11/94
"Rebel doesn't have the smoothness of Tony Bennett, or the lusty purr Elvis brought to 'Merry Christmas Baby.' But her grunts, oinks and snorts do bring a certain barnyard charm to 'Deck The Halls,' 'Joy To The World,' 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas,' and others." -- Dave Ferman, Fort Worth Star/Telegram, 10/26/95
"This is just a hoot. I have let Alice, my baby pig, hear it and her little ears just perked up." -- Angela Hill, news anchorperson, WWL-TV Channel 4 (New Orleans CBS affiliate, 9/15/94
"You guessed it. A garrulous pig grunts and squeals its way through 'Joy To The World,' 'O Come All Ye Faithful,' and 'Greensleeves.' The disc is only 25 minutes long because '25 minutes is about all a person can take,' said the genius behind the project." -- Fred Shuster, Los Angeles Daily News, 12/23/94
From the Label
"Sure enough, pop in the CD, and there's a pig grunting and squealing the melodies to all your favorite holiday songs. It may not be the prettiest thing you've ever heard, but it's guaranteed to stand out at the office Christmas party.
